Description
This is a charcoal pencil portrait of 'Snowflake' - the only known albino gorilla.
A unique western lowland gorilla, he was given the moniker "Snowflake" in a 1967 National Geographic article.
Known worldwide, books and poems have been written about him.
Films have been made about him, and a scholarship, as well as an asteroid have been named in his honor.
During his life he had 21 offspring and 2 granddaughters.
Snowflake lived at the Barcelona Zoo from 1966 until his death in 2003.
